Jonathan Hathaway is a Savannah native who now resides in Effingham County with his wife Naomi and their three children. He is a proud graduate of Georgia Southern University where he obtained a B.S. in Sports Management. In the years since, Jonathan has spent time as a youth athletic supervisor for the Bulloch County Recreation Department and 13 years as an multi-line agent for a local insurance company. Most recently he has started his own business, Lifestyle Enhancement Systems, LLC., where he seeks to help others maximize their potential for success through healthier living. Jonathan currently holds a Certificate of Personal Training and Group Fitness Instructor certification from the NCCPT (National Council for Certified Personal Trainers) as well as being a P90X Certified Instructor. He currently trains clients one-on-one, in small groups, and teaches several group fitness classes each week at area gyms. Jonathan also offers online training and lifestyle coaching.
When not spending time with his family, Jonathan enjoys challenging himself with various athletic pursuits. He started running in 2010 and more seriously pursued the sport in 2016 when he completed his “Year of 40” where he completed 40 races of varying distances and styles to celebrate turning 40. It was at the beginning of that year he was introduced to the amazing team at Georgia Game Changers Running Company when Sandra Elliott assisted him in securing a new pair of shoes for his endeavor. Through their unique fitting and assessment process, Sandra not only provided the shoes that would carry Jonathan through to the end, but also some key running tips that completely “changed the game” for how he ran. Jonathan’s favorite runs to participate in are obstacle course races, but he also enjoys the camaraderie of the Savannah area running community found at local 5K, 10K, and half marathon events. He has completed 4 half marathons, multiple 5K and 10K races, and various obstacle course challenges including completing his first Spartan Trifecta in 2017. In his “spare” time Jonathan also serves on the board of directors for Xcel Strategies, a local non-profit mentoring network for young men, and volunteers as a youth leader at Grace Community Church in Rincon.
Jonathan is excited to have joined the team at Georgia Game Changers Running Company where he enjoys helping others find the right gear to optimize their performance in and enjoyment of running. Whether someone is an experienced runner, newbie, road runner, or obstacle course enthusiast, Jonathan is ready and willing to share his knowledge and experience and provide training tips to help everyone be their best!
